FUNKD is a Sydney-based music organisation, grounded in big band and jazz, delivering bespoke programmes across jazz, classical and musical theatre. Programmes are developed closely with clients, allowing each project to reflect the character of the occasion.
Philosophy
We don’t work from a fixed setlist. Music is shaped in response to what’s happening—entrances, speeches, movement
in the room—whether through an overarching theme, new writing, or by responding closely to the pace of the moment.
Our aim is to create something singular: a performance that belongs entirely to the occasion.
This isn’t a package, and it isn’t hourly. It’s a piece of work shaped around an idea.
A brief sets the direction—sometimes a clear concept, sometimes a feeling—and from there the music is shaped through instrumentation, repertoire, and flow, until it feels specific to the occasion.
